DEVELOPMENT
Set-the-scene:
Teacher puts the picture of Story “Snow White & the seven dwarfs” on the board.
Teacher asks Ss to guess “What’s the story?”
Teacher points “The apple” in the picture and asks Ss “What’s this?”
Teacher says: Today, we will learn the first English letter. Can you guess what letter?
Presentation:
Teacher lets Ss recognize letter 'A', sound /a/, the meaning of the word "apple" and the name of girl “Annie” by playing the CD player and asks Ss to listen three times.
Practice:
Teacher lets Ss practice the new language items as a whole class, in groups, and as individual.
Free-practice
* Game: "Red Apple Game"
- Teacher gives instructions:
+ Teacher has three different coloured balls, divides Ss into three groups and gives three Ss balls.
Red ball – A
Green ball – /a/
Yellow ball – Apple
+ Then play some music. When the music plays, Ss pass their balls to next. When the music stops, all Ss in class ask “What’s this?” and the St is holding the ball tells the meanings of the balls.
Practice using Student's Book
- Teacher asks Ss to open their Ss' books.
- Teacher lets Ss listen to the words and point to the words in their books.
- Teacher asks Ss to read the words without listening to the CD player.
- Teacher guides their Ss how to glue the stickers on their books.

BOOKMARK CONTEST- Color the bookmark
Students will have fun designing their own bookmarks and at the same time will give the school library an abundant supply.
Make some copies of the suggested blank bookmarks - each student should have one.
Give each child a blank bookmark. Ask students to color and write their names on the other side of the bookmarks.
Collect the bookmarks which have been done and display them on
the Display Corner (Works From Our Heart).
Give prize ribbons to the top four winners.

+ Ss repeat the action, this time slap their right hands as they say B, /b/ – boy – bat.
* Game: Mime
+ Teacher calls one student to the front and secretly gives her or him a letter or a word on a piece of paper which describes letters or words.
+ The student mimes the words.
