Foreign direct investment attractive factors from east asia countries into Vietnam
In Korea, OFDI was limited until 1979, in 1986, when the trade surplus began to create milestones, the Government began promoting OFDI more actively. In 2017, the amount of Korean FDI reached more than 30 billion USD.
Asia is the region that receives a large amount of Korean FDI, with Korea's FDI in Asia compared to the world rate of approximately 42.4% between 1990-2017. China took the lead in attracting OFDI from South Korea, Vietnam ranked third as 9.4% of Korea's FDI from 1992 to 2017. Regarding industry zone, the most prominent is the manufacturing sector, is the largest offshore investment sector although the trend has decreased from 2006 to 2017; And investment in mining and quarrying sector increased to 21.7% from 2006 to 2017.
