Task 2: Look and say

- Read the sentences (Part 4 / SB 5)

- Take turn to point to a person in the picture and describe them

Task 3: Introducing circle

- Stand in a circle.

- First child introduce the person on his left to the person on his right.

- The person on the right then introduces the one on his left.

- Continue in this way around the class to introduce the friend.

Task 4: Listen and sing

- Play the recording once for children to listen.

- Read each line of the song aloud for children to repeat after you.

- Play the recording again for children to sing along.

- Repeat (twice)

Task 5: Sing and do

- Look at the pictures and decide together on what the actions should be.

- Ask children to look at Class book, p. 6 look at the pictures

- Ask What can you see? Elicit the actions the children are doing (jumping, waving).

- Listen, sing, and do their actions

Week 1 Monday, August 20th, 2018 Period 1 STARTER: WELCOME BACK! LESSON ONE OBJECTIVES: - Identifying different places in a home - Listening – Speaking - ML: Welcome back to all their friends and also welcome to the new ones. 1. WARMER: - As children come into class, smile and say Hello. -Encourage children to say Hello back to the teacher. - Say It’s a new year. Welcome back! - Begin the class with some common greetings. - Children then practice greeting each other in pairs or small groups. 2. PRESENTATION: - Tell children that they are going to begin the lesson with a song. - Ask children to open their Class Books and look at the three children at the top of the page. - Point to each one in turn for children to tell you their names. - Explain that they will see these characters the whole way through the course. aTask 1: Introduction 3. PRACTICE: aTask 2 : Listen and sing - Recording 1: Explain that they’re going to listen to a 'Welcome back' song and then sing it. Play the recording once for children to listen and follow the song in their books. Focus attention on the words. Read each line for children to repeat. Play the recording again for children to sing along. a Task 3: Song actions - Ask children to think of some actions for the song. - Play the song again for children to sing and do their actions. aTask 4: Listen and read - Recording 2: Use the Starter Story Poster to present the story. - Point to the characters for children to say the names. - Ask What’s happening in the story?/ Who’s in front of the camera? / Who’s Rosy’s cousin? / Where’s Billy?/ - Listen the story then listen again and repeat 4. PRODUCTION: aGuessing game: Describe a character from the story for children to guess who it is e.g. She’s in the kitchen. - Ask different children to describe another character for the class to guess. 5. HOMEWORK: - Prepare lesson 2. ****** Period 2 Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 STARTER UNIT: WELCOME BACK! LESSON TWO OBJECTIVES: - Identifying different places in a home - Listening – Speaking - ML: Welcome back to all their friends and also welcome to the new ones. 1. WARMER: Spelling quiz. - Draw a family tree and elicit the family members. - Talk about and describe 2 of the family 2. PRESENTATION: Task 1: Introduction - Ask the children what they can remember about the story Who has got curly hair? Who has got green eyes? Who has got brown hair? - Listen to the recording again, role play and do the actions 3. PRACTICE: Task 2: Circle True (T) or False (F) - Look at the sentences (Part 2/ SB 5) - Choose T / F - Peer correction. Task 3: Listen and number - Play the track 3 - Children to write the numbers on the pictures. - Play again for the children to check their answers Task 4: Point and say - Read the sentences (Part 4 / SB 5) - Take turn to point to a person in the picture and describe them 4. PRODUCTION: Task 5: Describe yourself - Ask one child to come before the class to describe himself/ herself. Who am I? - Continue the activity in the same way.(5-6 students) (For better students) 5. LESSON THREE OBJECTIVES: - Identifying different places in a home - Listening – Speaking - ML: Welcome back to all their friends and also welcome to the new ones. 1. WARMER: Sing and do - Sing the Welcome song (p. 4) - Do the actions 2. PRESENTATION: Task 1: Ask and answer - Read the sentences in the first speech bubble to the class - Take turns to 'introduce' their friends to each other 3. WARMER: - Sing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Jump! from page 6 to energize the class and revise the days of the week 2. PRESENTATION: Task 1: Introduction - Use the number flashcards to elicit numbers 11-20. - Give a flashcard to 10 different students in the class and get them to stand up when they hear their number. 3. PRACTICE: Task 1: Look, ask and answer - Look at the pictures (Part 1 / SB 6) - Read the question and answer - Ask and answer Task 2 : Listen and point - Look at the pictures ( Part 2 / SB 6) - Play the track - Point to the cars when hearing the number Task 3: Ask and answer - Ask and answer across the group (Part 2 / SB6) Task 4: Write - Write the number - Peer correction 4. PRODUCTION: Write - Choose 12 items of vocabulary- singular and plural nouns e.g. books, pen to review. - Draw 2 columns on the board “There is / There are” - Ss write the singular and plural nouns. 5. LESSON FIVE OBJECTIVES: - Identifying different places in a home - ML: Welcome back to all their friends and also welcome to the new ones. 1. WARMER: Spelling quiz. - Draw a family tree and elicit the family members. - Talk about and describe 2 of the family. 2. Presentation: Task 1: Write - Describe about Rosy, Tim and Billy - Choose the words from the box and write into the sentences (Part 1/ WB 4) Task 2: Find and circle - Find and circle the family words (Part 2/ WB 4) 3. Practice: Task 3: Circle, write and draw - Write your name (Part 1/ WB 5) - Circle the correct words and write - Draw yourself Task 6: Order and match - Order the words and match (Part 2/ WB 5) 4. Production: Task 7: Bingo - Give each child a whole worksheet. - Tell them to cut up the pictures and choose nine of the pictures to stick on the bingo grid. - Read out the words one by one. - Students can cross off the words as they hear them. - The first child to have a complete row, three across, three down or diagonally shouts Bingo! - He’s the winner 5. Homework: - Practice describing about members in your family Remark: Date of teaching: Week :2 Period: 6 STARTER UNIT: WELCOME BACK! LESSON SIX OBJECTIVES: - Identifying different places in a home - ML: Welcome back to all their friends and also welcome to the new ones. 1.Warmer: Word search pair activity - Work individually to find the five words in the word search grid, circling the words in the box as they do so. - Take turns to dictate their words and look for those words in the grid. - At the end of the activity, they should all have found the ten words. - Check together as a group to elicit all ten words. 2. Presentation: Task 1: Match - Match and write the letters (Part 2 / WB5) - Work in pair, ask and answer Task 2: Write - Choose the words in the box and write - Work in pair, introduce their friends 3. Practice: Task 3: Find, circle and write - Find and circle the days of the week - Write Today is.. Task 4: Count and write - Look at the pictures, count and write There’s / There are - Ask and answers about the picture How many .. are there?
