Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Ask and answer questions about where someone is from. - Improve: Listening and speaking skills. II. Language focus: - Vocabulary: always, usually, often, sometimes, never... - Sentence Pattern: What do you do.? I. III. Teaching aids: - Student’s book. - Audio and visual aids: Recordings, flash cards, sticky tape... IV. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm up. - Play game slap the board. 2. Activities. 2.1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ps open the book on page 12. Ask them to pay attention to the title of the unit, pictures and the texts. - Ask Ps some questions, for example: Do you understand the title? - Ask Ps to look at each picture and identify the characters. Point and say. - T asks Ps to look at pictures a, b, c and d on page 12. - T tells them to identify the people in each picture. - Pre teach new vocabulary: - always brush the teeth. - usually do morning exercise. - often cook dinner. - sometimes watch TV. - T does the task with one pupil as an example eg: Teacher: What do you do in the morning? P: I always . - T asks Ps to work in pairs, one pupil asks the question and the other gives the responses. - T repeats the step, but this time asks Ps to swap their roles. - T selects some pairs of Ps to do the task in front of the class. - T monitors the activity, checks pupils’ pronunciation and offers help when necessary. - Ask Sts to practise greetings in my classmate. 2.3 Let’s talk. - T tells the class that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions about address. Elicit the words to fill the gaps. Put the sentences on the board and do choral and individual repetition. - T gets pupils to work in pairs. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - T calls a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. 3. Reinforcement - T repeats the sentence pattern. - T remarks the lesson. 4. Home link. - Ask pupils to practice. 1. Warm up. - Play game. 2.1. Look, listen and repeat. - Open the book on page 12 - Yes, I do - Look at the picture. - Answer the question. - Listen the recording. - Listen the recording again and repeat. - Read a role. 2.2. Point and say. - Look at the picture - Listen to the teacher - Read after the teacher - Read the example - Work in pairs. Eg: T: What do you do in the morning? P : I always . - Repeat the lines a few time in turns. - Work in pairs. 2.3 Let’s talk. - Ss look at pictures and identify. - Ss listen - Ss guess - Ss practise. - The rest of the class watch and comment. - The whole class repeat - Ss remember V.
