WEEK 26 Afternoon,Monday, March 5th, 2018 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE FUTURE? Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3) Objectives: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to read the sentences with right intonation. Modes: TWC, individuals, pair work, group work. Materials: Coursebook, workbook, CD, loudspeakers. Time: 35 minutes. PROCEDURE: Steps Learning activities Modes 1. Warm up (5 min) a. Class organization. - Ask a student some questions in Vietnamese + What’s the date to day? + Who’s absent today? b. Checking the old lesson. - Ask ss to play game : Nough and crosses. Individuals Group work 2. Listen and repeat (8 min) - Ask ss to look at the sentences. - Elicit from ss how to read the questions and the answer in right intonation. - Play the CD for ss to listen once. - Play the CD again for ss to listen and repeat chorally. - Ask ss to work in pairs to practise pronouncing the questions and answer. - Call some ss to pronounce in front of the class. - Give feedbacks. Pre listening: - Ask ss look at the sentences and mark intonation by themselves. - Collect some ideas. b. While listening: - Play the CD twice for ss to listen mark the intonation. - Let ss have time to compare to their partners. - Ask ss to give the answers. - Play the CD again for ss to check their answers. c. Post listening: - Ask ss to compare the answers to their predictions. - Ask ss to read the completed sentences chorally and individually. Give feedbacks. (chant) - Ask ss to look at the chant (book/ screen) to read through the chant in silent. - Play the CD for ss to listen to the chant two times. - Guide ss to chant each sentence. - Guide ss how to clap the syllables along with chanting. - Play the disk again for ss to listen, repeat and clap the syllables. - Ask ss to chant and clap in groups of four or five. - Organize a competition about doing the chant among the groups. (7 mins) - Tell the class that thay are going to read and listen to the story. - Give Ss time to read the story . Help Ss with the newwords. - Ask Ss some questions to check their comprehension : Where are Chit and Miu? What’s the matter with Miu? What’s Miu going to do with Maurice and Doris?Where’s Mauris? What’s the matter with him? - Play the recording and ask Ss to listen twice. - Play again for Ss to listen and repeat. - Call on some Ss to roleplay to practise the story. TWC Individuals Answer the questions: ( 8 mins) - Ask ss to look at the book in part 2 on page 39. - Run through the questions. - Ask Ss to read the story again and answer the questions. - Have Ss compare their answer with partner. - Give the correct answers. * Key: 1.
