Educational aim: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: Get the general information about the national parks. Revise the third conditional sentence (conditional sentence type 3) that Ss have been taught in the secondary school. 2. Skill : Distinguish the sounds /t/ and /d/; pronounce the words and sentences containing these sounds correctly. How to use the grammar: the third conditional sentence 3. Attitude: Active to broaden and percept the knowledge. II. Knowledge: Ss learn more about the passive voice of the present tenses and modal verbs II. Method and Teaching aids 1. Method: Communicative approach: teacher and students, students and students, students and teacher. Work in groups, work in individually, work in pairs. 2. Teaching aids: Poster, word cards, pictures, textbook (English 10), hand-outs IV. Procedure: 1. Organization: 10A16 ( ) Ask Ss to sing a song before learning new lesson. 2. Check old lesson: - T asks Ss to hand in the writing products that they have asked to do at home in the previous lesson. 3. New lesson: Content T’s and Ss’ activities I. Find out what you partner would have done if she/he: had seen a robbery on the way to school this morning hadn’t come to school today had woken up an hour later than usual this morning hadn’t brought any books to the class had felt really hungry on the way to school this morning. Example: A: What would you have done if you had seen a robbery on the way to school this morning? B: I’d have teaken a photo with my mobile and then I’d have called the police. III. Consolidation: - Elicit the pronunciation of two sounds (consonants) /b/ and /p/ - Revise the passive voice (present tenses and modal verbs) * Form: Type 1: If clause Main clause S+ V/V(es/s).... Homework: Learn by heart the structures. Do exercise 1, 2 and 3 (Exercise on their textbook- English 10- page 119- 120) on their notebook. Prepare: Revision for unit 9-10-11 - T divides the class into two big groups. - Ss listen to the T. - T explains the way to play the game: I have a poster with 9 squares. You should choose nine words to complete the poster and I will play the audio of each words randomly. If you hear a word, you tick next to the word and if you are full of 9 square of tick, you will yell “Bingo” you will be the winner.” - T leads in the new lesson. - Ss open their books and notebooks, listen to the T. - Ss take notes. - T shows small poster with two sounds. - Ss look at the poster. - T uses the sound fashcards and the body language to introduce the sounds and how to make the sounds correctly. - Ss listen to the T. - T asks Ss to listen and repeat the words on the poster and pay attention to the sounds. - T asks Ss to use the techniques to check the pronunciation of the two consonants by using Ss’ fingers and a piece of paper. - Ss repeat after the T. - T calls some Ss to repeat the words. - Ss read aloud the words. - T gives feedback, comments if necessary. - Ss listen to the T. - T gives the handouts and asks Ss to do the task by ticking the words a) or b) that your hear in the sentences. - Ss listen to the audio and do the task. - T calls some Ss to give their answers. - Ss give their answers. - T asks Ss to listen the audio again and check their answers. - T gives feedback, comments and answer key. - T asks Ss to look at the sentences on page 119 - Ss look at the sentences. - T asks Ss to listen and repeat the sentence after the T in class, in groups (T chooses three sentences to practice in class, three of them will be practiced at home by the students). - Ss work in class, work individually. - T calls some Ss to read aloud the sentences as reading the sentences of tongue twister (slowly>>> rapidly) - T gives the feedback and comments. - Ss listen to the T. - T asks a student to give the form of three types of conditional sentence. - Ss listen to the T and give the form on the board. - T gives feedback, comments and corrects the mistakes if necessary. - T asks some Ss to make some sentences three types of conditional sentences. - Ss listen to the T and take notes. - From the meaning of the two sentences, the teacher gets students to give the usage of conditional sentence type 3. - Ss listen to the T and take notes. - T asks Ss to do the exercise in Ss’ handouts - T goes around to provide help - T asks Ss to compare their answers with another student - T asks some Ss to give their answers and other Ss to give comments. - T gives correct answers - T asks Ss to do the exercise in the handouts in pairs. - T asks them to compare answers with another pair. - T introduces anad explains the activity “random sentences” “I will call the first student to pick a paper randomly and she/he will answer the question that she/he picks up. After answering, she/ he will call any student to pick up the paper for the next person” - T asks Ss to do the activity “random sentences”. - Ss do the activity. - T feedbacks and gives correct answers after Ss’ answer key. - T asks Ss to do the exercise in Ss’ handouts in pairs by using the structure. - T goes around to provide help - T asks some pairs to perform their ideas. - Ss perform their ideas. - T gives the feedback and comments. - Ss listen to the T. - T asks Ss to remind the new knowledge that they have just studied. - T instructs homework for the Ss. - Ss listen to the T’s instructions and take notes.
