LESSON PLAN –¬¬¬— Unit 12: MUSIC Date: 12/03/2018 Section: Listening Time: 45 minutes Teacher: Nguyễn Thị Bùi Phái Student teacher: Phạm Uyến Nhi OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson students (Ss) are expected to listen to the conversation about a popular Vietnamese musician – Van Cao, and they will be able to interview together to express their opinion about Van Cao’s music. TEACHING AIDS: Computer, projector, textbooks, powerPoint. Methods: Guessing game Integrated Mainly communicative Procedures: CONTENT Teacher’s activity Students’ activity v Warm up: Guessing game (4’) 4 questions with 4 pictures A singer A song A song An author - Gives questions and some answers - Open one by one picture for ss guess. -T gives small gift to ss - work in two teams. - As fast as ss can , they raise their hand and choose the right answer. v Pre-listening: (10’) Provide the information about Van Cao musician - What do you know about him? s What’s his name? -> Van Cao s Which the best famous song was written by him? -> Tien Quan Ca s When was he born? -> 15/11/1923 s Is he still alive? It’s hard and solemn, it makes him feel great and proud of his country. 4. They are sweet and gentle, and very lyrical. Post – listening: (10’) Interviewer: Can you tell us about the Vietnamese composer/singer you like best, please? Can you tell us why you like him/her? Which his/her songs do you like best? Can you use a word or phrase to describe that song? Homework (1’): - Learn by heart all new words. - Rewrite your opinion about Van Cao musician and his songs within 50 words. - Prepare for the next lesson - Ask Ss to close their books and look at the screen. - T lets ss read the paragraph. - Ask some questions to check their attention. -lets ss listen some songs - Ask Ss to choose the songs written by Van Cao. - check and correct - T teachs vocabulary and its meaning. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat. (remind Ss last words’ meaning). - Ask Ss to guess which words can be used to describe Van Cao’s music. - Check. - Run through, ask Ss to guess whether the statements are true or false before listening. - Ask Ss to listen and check their answers. - Ask Ss to listen again and correct the statements in which the information is wrong. (T returns the tape if Ss haven’t had the answer yet). -Ask Ss to correct the wrong sentences. - Check Ss’ answers and give the correct Work in pairs. -T lets ss listen again to answer 4 questions. -T asks some ss stand up and answer the questions. - Ask ss work in pairs to interview together through some - Check Ss by calling 2->3 pairs to make a conversation. - Require Ss to do the exercises at home - Follow Teacher’s (T) demand. - Work in pairs and talk each other. - listen and answer the questions. - choose the songs written by Van Cao. - Listen and repeat. - Call out the words which can be used. - Pay attention to T and guess - Listen and check the answers. - Listen, check and correct them individually. - Ss raise their hand to answer. -SS listen again and work in pairs to answer the questions. - SS raise hand to stand up then ask and answer. - read the answers. - write the answers on the board. - Work in pairs - Raise hand to stand in front of the class and make a conversation. -Follow T’s demand
