Status of rubella vaccination among women of childbearing age and the effectiveness of some interventions in ba vi district, Hanoi, 2016 - 2018

Availability is one of the important factors affecting the vaccination of subjects in two study sites. Because rubella vaccine for the women of child-bearing age was a charge service, thus it depends on the location where service is deployed. The diversity of service providers would increase the availability of vaccines as well as the accessibility of the target group in the inner city. Ba Vi district has not provided Rubella vaccines for all 32 vaccination facilities. The CHS in Thuy An does not provide vaccines and does not order Rubella vaccines. People who need to get vaccines must go to the nearest vaccination service provider, the Preventive Medicine Center of Son Tay Town, about 10- 15 km away from Thuy An Commune. However, vaccines were not available at the Center, thus users have to order the vaccine prior to one week. The lack of availability of vaccine resulting in not knowing where to vaccinate (74.6%) and the remote injection site (15.3%) were two of the common factors that influence the vaccine-seeking behavior decision for those living in Thuy An commune, Ba Vi district.
