- Presents the new words and explains the meanings by pictures on the slides:

• Landscape (n): phong cảnh

- Reads first and then asks SS to listen and repeat.

- Calls on some SS to read the new words.

LESSON PLAN UNIT 13: HOBBIES LESSON B: SPEAKING A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Know more about some kinds of hobby. - Apply the vocabularies to talk about their hobbies. B. Teaching Method: Communicative approach. C. Teaching Aids: Textbook, computer, speaker, handouts. D. Procedure Time Stage Teacher’s activities Student’s activities 6mins *Warm-up: Miming Game - Divides the class into 2 groups: Cat and Dog. - Gives the rule of the game: The representatives of each team will in turn choose a box of pictures (related to hobby) on the slide and try to describe to their group by using the body language, the rest of the team will guess what the words in the papers is. If your answer is correct, you will guess one mark, if your answer is wrong, another team will have right to answer. In 2 minutes, which group has more correct answers will be the winner. - Gives time for SS to play the game. - Checks the answers and gives feedback. *Lead-in: UNIT 13: HOBBIES – SPEAKING. - Choose 2 representatives to go to the board. - Guess the pictures. Answer key: mountain-climbing, fishing, swimming, dancing, playing soccer, playing tennis, reading books, watching TV, playing guitar, listening to music, chatting with friends, shopping. 7mins I. While – speaking Activity 1: Setting the scene - Shows a picture of 2 friends Huong and Lan talking to each other. - Sets the situation: “This is Huong and this is Lan. They are talking about Lan’s hobby – collecting books” - Calls some SS stand up and act out the dialogue. - Gives time for SS to discuss. - Asks SS to make a similar dialogue about collecting stamps using the suggestions on task 3. - Calls on 2 pairs go to the board to make the dialogues. Activity 2: What is your hobby? My hobby is collecting mangas. My hobby is traveling. - Ask SS choose 1 hobbies to talk about by answer the questions: + Why do you like it? + How to do it? + How long have you been doing it? + Does your family prevent you from doing you hobby? + What is your plan for the future? - Asks to work in groups of 4. - Asks SS to discuss with their friends. - Read the dialogue. - Work in pair. - Go to the board, 1 ask and 1 answer about collecting stamps. - Choose the hobbies to talk about. - Work in groups and give feedback for each other. 7mins III. Post – speaking Find someone whose - Gives the handouts. Find someone whose hobby is Name Reason 1. watching Korean dramas 2. listening to US-UK music 3. playing online games 4. chatting with friends on Facebook 5. singing karaoke 6. shopping - Asks SS to fill in the table in their handout in 3 minutes. - Asks SS to find at least 2 people for 1 hobby. - Calls on some SS to present their result. - Gives feedbacks. - Read the handouts quickly. - Go around ask their friends. - Present their results to the whole class.
